The Asia’s Golden Icon Awards (AGIA) has awarded DivinaLaw Senior Partner Atty. Jay Layug as Asia’s Prominent Leader for Legal Excellence in a ceremony held earlier this year in Parañaque.

Joining the elite ranks of 2025 awardees which included news anchor Alvin El Chico , broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez and entertainment artist Marian Rivera, Atty. Layug was honored for his impressive background and contribution in law, academia, and energy. 

The AGIA Executive Council recognized Atty. Layug as a true icon in the field of law, inspiring others with his commitment to excellence and his influence in shaping the energy industry. The Executive Council of AGIA is composed of Dr. Ronnel Ybanez, Founder and Chairman; Undersecretary Vidal Villanueva III, TESDA Deputy Director General; Senator Gringo Honasan; Congresswoman Marissa Del Mar Magsino, OFW Party-List Representative and Assistant Minority Floor Leader; Dr. Sergio Luiz-Ortiz, Jr., President of Employers Confederation of the Philippines; and Consul Enunina Mangio, President of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Atty. Jay recently received two distinguished legal awards: (1) the Asia Business Law Journal’s 2024 A List: Philippines Top 100 Lawyers, and (2) Global Wind Energy Council’s 1st Raymund Offshore Wind Award for his leadership and innovation in the legal field for renewable energy and offshore wind.
