“I think the biggest misconception is still looking at cybersecurity as a tech issue,” said DivinaLaw Partner Atty. Jay-r C. Ipac during a panel discussion at the BusinessWorld Cybersecurity Summit 2026 held recently in Pasay City.
“They have these sophisticated systems in place, they have purchased these expensive cybersecurity tools, they have obtained several certifications, and they think that these actions are enough. But your people are your best assets. You have to create that cybersecurity culture; to create not just the awareness but the resilience that the government is trying to create in heavily regulated industries such as the financial services industry.”
